and i want to know how much time you guys sprout it...? i sprout them for like 2-3 days, but its hard to tell if they are sprouted enough, because of that annoying little tail it has even when unsprouted... Re: Cooked quinoa vs. Sprouted quinoa (nutritonal value)

I believe sprouted quinoa is the same situation as soaked nuts...they will digest better and the enzymes will activate. I sprout them till the tail is about 1/8" long. The only downside is that they only last a few days in the fridge before spoiling. Re: Cooked quinoa vs. Sprouted quinoa (nutritonal value)

Date: March 14, 2008 09:24PM I am not sure about caloric content, but if you cook quinoa you will not get any live enzymes.I would assume calorie values of grains are the same cooked or sprouted.
Anyone else know? Re: Cooked quinoa vs. Sprouted quinoa (nutritonal value)

Date: March 15, 2008 02:40AM In general there are far fewer calories in sprouted compared to cooked for a given volume. There are no direct comparisons for quinoa in the USDA nutrient database but you could look at the cooked vs sprouted calories for wheat and lentils to get an idea.
[www.nutritiondata.com] will have those values. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
