Raw Almonds

Does anyone else have an almond tree? My husband planted one and we have the most delicious almonds now. They taste like crunchy cucumbers and not at all like the almonds I've had before. It's great because I never actually liked regular almonds, but these are fantastic.
I've read a lot about soaking nuts and things like that..is this something I need to do with almonds off the tree?

You still could but it is less necessary.

It's sad what happened to store almonds. They're not allowed to be sold raw anymore, you can soak them for ages and they don't swell up since they're not alive.

Congrats! I wish I had an almond tree. Where do you live?

I live in Phoenix. We have tons of citrus trees, fig trees, pomegranate trees and almond trees everywhere, they do so well in the soil here and handle the heat well too. Now if only I can get an apple tree to take...
