nepales/ nepal cactus

we've been growing this in my backyard for years, and i just found out you can eat it. it's SO good! I had no idea. <3

While I haven't sought to eat these, these are a norm for the Mexican diet.

Glad that you like them. If you are where cacti are, you are probably enjoying the cacti fruit as well. They are delicious, too.

I love cactus fruit but I never really liked the sliminess of the nopales.

nopales are a great food and medicine. they contain mucopolysaccharides which can help ibs, and inflamed colon. They are excellent for burns externally as gel or compress. They are very cooling; if you eat too much, there is a possibility of fever. Likeweise, they are given in case of fever.
