hi. just a quick question:

are all beans raw? I bought some mong lentil and alfalfa sprout beans at the healthfood market. Do i just immerse them in water and wait for them to germinate? Or does it have to say it's "unprocessed" or raw on the label?

Also got organic raw almonds? Do i need to sprout them ot just it them as is?? i've read that their enzymes become activated when you immerse tehm in water.

Thanks

Hi aazy. Unfortunately all almonds now sold in stores have been pastureized. However you can mail-order raw almonds or get them at farmer's markets.

As for beans, it depends. Most are raw but not all are sproutable. The best way to know is sample different ones and see which ones sprout tails. smiling smiley

Yup,
Soak the mung and lentils for 12 hrs,and then rinse twice a day thereafter.
They should have tails in a few days.
If not,then they werent raw.
But most health stores where you buy those beans in bins...they are raw.

If they sprout, they're still raw/alive! =D

the almonds need to be ordered online

Most sold here anyway are from US so not safe to eat

soak them, they will get fat ..then can be made into milk..or dehydrated
