Date: June 02, 2008 07:52PM They often look very different when reported by weight. (how many mg iron per 100 g). The dried ones have water removed so they "look" better by this report.
They look more similar when reported by calories. (how many mg iron per 200 calories). You would expect them to look exactly the same, but they will not be because of differences in crop type, weather, fertilization, etc. Our soils are getting worse every year and the mineral content of our plants is also decreasing. Date: June 04, 2008 07:38PM I have also heard that raisins used to be made in cast iron pots and they would absorb some iron, and that's why they aquired an association with high iron. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
