Date: June 21, 2008 03:56AM I've been keeping track of what I eat with Fitday and just wondering if the calories are acurate in the JUICE if I put it as food. Like if I juice 2 apples, instead of selecting "Apple Juice" and the ounces it came out to... I just picked 2 medium sized apples. I don't even know how much juice it came out to since I added carrots.
I think I've read on here before that there aren't any calories in the pulp/fiber..? Re: Are the calories the same in juce as they are whole?

Date: June 21, 2008 03:02PM It's a good question. You don't really know how many calories you are getting. The pulp does have some calories but fiber calories per gram are lower than sugar calories per gram, about 2 instead of 4. You could use the whole food value, weigh the pulp in grams (or estimate, 1 tbsp is very roughly 15 g), and subtract 2 calories for each gram of pulp.
