i'm reading that high doses of vitamin c can deplete copper, which effects thyroid, immunity etc.

i would like to get a mineral test. has anyone had one?

That would actually be a good thing for people whose water is delivered in copper pipes and who have an overdose. An overdose affects the adrenals, and than dominos into other problems.

From the list it looks like plenty of foods have vitamin C so why would a raw food eater feel it necessary to supplement vitamin C ?

Mangos have a good amount of copper and Vit C and I eat at least a half a ton of mangos every year for the last 35 years and the previos 17 years maybe a quarter of a ton.

I dont worry about depleted copper or anything else the main thing I try to do is eat a good amount of food to fill my stomach.

i guess some people here have serious health problems, and a raw diet just isn't enough.

I'd imagine the needs of a raw person battling cancer or some kind of chronic illness are totally different than someone who is already in good health and raw, too.

I always love reading these little tidbits... knowledge is power (both brain-information and body-intuition). >8)

For people eating lots of fruit and veggies in their raw state, getting enough Vitamin C is not a problem. I wouldn't worry about finding super foods, as all fresh fruits and vegetables are super foods.

I agree with Bryan. Vit C is not hard to get if you are eating lots of fresh produce. When I occasionally enter my food for the day on fitday, I am always well over the recommended amount for C.
