Raw Almonds - Where Can I Get Them?

Date: July 31, 2008 11:31PM Hey Guys. Anyone know of a farm or grower I can get raw almonds from? Im in Delaware, and would probably buy in bulk a few times a year.
Its my understanding that all almonds grown in California are now pasteurized, by law. I also hear that they supply 90%+ of americas almonds, making purchasing truly raw almonds a tough task. Date: August 01, 2008 12:55AM I like Nutsonline, but I'm sure there's other sources, too. Believe it or not, I haven't had to get more almonds yet, but I've gone through lots of pine nuts, cashews, and macadamias since being raw. Oh, walnuts, too. The last time I bought almonds, it was from Nuts To You and they are labeled raw but probably not really raw.

Date: August 01, 2008 11:47AM Looks like nutsonline has a pretty good price, relatively. I found some raw almonds last week from Italy in a health food store in White River Jct., Vermont. I'm going to Ca. in a couple weeks and am stocking up via my farmer friends. It's such a stupid thing that we even have to deal with this, since salmonella grows on meat, not plants, to begin with.
