Kombucha

I've stopped drinking it after I switched to the 811rv diet, but I wonder about it all the time. Personally, I loved the stuff when I drank it - does anyone know some good websites or anything very specifically about the drink?

(it's G.T.'s kombucha)

I'm going to go on google and wikipedia, but incase anyone had any views about it here; just wanted to check

Chloe,

Isn't kombucha most often made with refined white sugar? How do you feel about putting a refined sugar byproduct into your body?

I drink kombucha once in a blue moon. I don't think the GT brand is made with white sugar. ??? The GT owner/founder's mother had breast cancer and cured herself with kombucha apparently and this is why he started the company to give back to the community/spread awareness. I believe he's tried to research the purest ingredients possible. I know some raw folks who make it themselves at home with the mushroom and everything. It's not something I choose to ingest regularly, but I love the green GT brand with spirulina, chlorella etc. Listen to your body. :-)

G.T.'s kombucha usually is just fruit, algae, ginger and/or his kombucha - no sugar

I LOVE the green one smiling smiley

I will look at those links.

Kombucha can not be made without refined white sugar, its part of the process.

the end product is not white sugar any more, basically the white sugar is what

feeds it so that the kombucha ferments and the white sugar is naturally

transformed into raw enzymes and probiotics, b vitamins.

i figure kombucha eating off of white sugar
is similar to plants getting nourishment
from dead animals,
fecal matter,
and other stuff in the soil
and turning it into clean food for us.

the kombucha eats the sugar
and makes a bubbly beverage.

i find that i cycle with kombucha-
when for a year making it myself and drinking it daily
then for two years (or more?) without it at all
and am back on it b/c i felt like i needed the probiotics

i make my own
and let it get very, um, tangy

peace-
