Date: September 12, 2008 07:12PM The body hangs onto extra water when it has toxic substances to deal with like chemical salt for example. If you doubt this you can perform your own simple experiment. Start eating lots and lots of chemical salt and drinking plenty of water as thirst dictates and you will soon find yourself gaining weight and puffiness.
