Date: September 15, 2008 11:11PM I'd like to try using a mushroom as the base of a tiny pizza, as I saw a recipe that mentioned doing this but first marinating the mushroom in a little bit of shoyu. I don't know how to marinate a mushroom, period, and I don't have/use shoyu. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

Shoyu is a processed products, but if you still eating processed products, feel free to simply soak the mushrooms in a thin pan/bowl of either shoyu...soy....or whatever.....or lemon juice...as suggested above. Just a couple of hours would be more than fine for some flavor.

Date: September 16, 2008 10:02PM yeah, olive oil + lemon juice + herbs = delicious
just mix together in a small bowl, stick in the mushroom and leave somewhere (I put mine in the fridge). Since you're not using shoyu, you might want a salty-ish topping such as olives on there to even the taste out a bit. Re: mushroom as pizza crust
