Defrosting frozen durian?
Date: October 02, 2008 07:37PM

I have some durian flesh in the freezer (seeds still inside) that I want to eat, but don't know what to do with it

Anyone know the best way to defrost it, and how long it takes?

I brought home a whole durian fruit a few weeks ago just to give it a shot. It was frozen. It is a very large fruit. We set it on the back patio for about 4 hours to thaw. I really liked the flavor. But the smell is pretty bad. Have you ever had it before?

Hi rgh69! Yeah, I thought it was interesting tasting, sometimes nice, sometimes not so nice! I don't mind the smell... my cats were fascinated by it!

Thanks for the info smiling smiley

If its a whole durian still in the shell, I leave it outside the fridge for 24 hours and then eat it. However, if its been shelled, it won't take as long to defrost.
