Help! It's my 5th Day Raw!

Date: October 10, 2008 10:32PM Hi. I've been raw before but it's been awhile. I'm on day 5 and I feel like I have the flu. I have to dance(perform) tonight and sing tomorrow! What should I do? I was thinking of eating a little cooked food to slow down the detox but I don't want to mess up my progress...

Date: October 10, 2008 10:54PM Hi Jessica, Congrats. Yes, you may eat a little cooked to slow the detox.
Unlikely that you will be able to avoid flu-like symptoms as that is part of the detox that one often goes through with raw. I was sick for 2 weeks and had severe diarrhea, etc. Also, you might be a bit wary on eating the cacao as many have found that it is unhealthy even if raw. Good luck. Therese Re: Help! Date: October 10, 2008 11:48PM You could try drinking some echinecea (sp?) tea. A couple of cups of that helps me a LOT when detoxing or just feeling crappy. Good luck w/ your performances! Re: Help! It's my 5th Day Raw!

Date: October 12, 2008 02:36AM It's so early in the process for you. 10 years of steady progress will yield tremendous health. 5 days will mostly just yield positive thoughts and detox! LOL. I think you'll have plenty of time to change your diet, So: Yes. Eat whatever transitional foods or items that will make you comfortable....and then stretch from there the very first chance you get.

Sounds like you are in great foundational shape.. maybe just try to keep all avenues of detox open?.. i.e. sweat, breathing etc., and as a "long shot", see if you are not inadvertently feeling the affects of, say, lots and lots of conventionally grown local apples (which I believe gave me very achy muscles just recently).
