Electrolyte Imbalance

Date: January 18, 2009 02:15PM So, I am on this medication which I cannot get off and one of the side effects is a mild electrolyte imbalance. The result is that I am constantly craving salt (like, I get irritable if I don't get it). Is there anything a person can eat/drink that will help restore electrolyte (sodium, potassium, calcium) balance? I really cannot stop taking medicine, so that's not really an option for me. I appreciate your help. Thanks! Re: Electrolyte Imbalance

Date: January 18, 2009 02:42PM Celery, is probably your best bet. If you have a juicer, I'd recommd juicing alot of it and drinking it. Also, cucumbers are good. Banana's have alot of potassium, but I find when my are out of balance that alot of celery does the trick. Maybe blending a bunch up to get more into your system? Hope this helps. You might want to use sea salt if you crave salt and eat tomatoes. Celery is good, too. What about kelp or dulse? Also, you might want to incorporate more straight green juices in your diet like cilantro or wheat grass juice or chlorophyll. Good luck. Therese Re: Electrolyte Imbalance
