Posted by: Anonymous User ()

Have just started the raw diet & am experiencing low blood pressure in the morning & feeling really bad...I start out with a green smoothie follow up with some nuts or seeds ...is this normal in the beginning or do I need to change something?
Thank you,
Linda

I think there have been other threads on this subject you could search for. It is indeed common and there are things you can do to improve it. Getting extra water, and making sure you get enough sodium. (Some will disagree with that last point I think). It will probably go away on its own too. Good luck!

When I first started raw, I would get dizzy if I stood up too fast. I think this was an internal adjustment my body was making to having the lighter raw foods, as if my blood were thinner or something (just an analogy here).

Over time, this problem went away. What I did was just to be conscious about standing up quickly.

If you are able to live with the symptoms currently, I think if you wait a bit you will notice improvements. Do take precautions about standing up or getting up too quickly though (do it slowly).
