First watermellon of the season!

Maybe, later in the season they have a glut of watermellon and the mellons spend some time in storage before they hit the produce section and that explains why they are "grainy" sometimes. We really need a produce stocker on this board to explain the ins and outs of produce stocking, but interestingly, now that I think about it, I've never encountered a produce stocker on a raw foods message board. I guess close proximity to something doesn't equal affinity for something. Re: First watermellon of the season!

Date: April 09, 2009 04:48PM The organic melons haven't shown up here yet, but I bought a conventional cantaloupe yesterday. I'm looking forward to being able to juice watermelon rind again this year! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
