How long have you beem eating this way? Make sure you are getting enough calories and enough sleep. Exercise in fresh air whenever possible. Once you feel healthy and look healthy, your lifestyle will speak for itself. In the meantime, gently remind your family that you have learned a lot about raw food, that you believe it will give you great health, and that you are not demanding anything of them(like participation) except that they respect your decision. Be loving about asserting yourself, and hopefully your family will understand. Blessings to you! Re: What do you think about this(famaly think im nuts)

Date: April 25, 2009 07:07PM For you to be happy in your life, do you need others to listen to you? I would suggest to just be happy with yourself and what you're doing and who cares what anyone else thinks! Re: What do you think about this(famaly think im nuts)

Date: April 25, 2009 08:17PM You don't say how old you are - are you living at home? Give your family alittle space while you settle down and get into what you are doing. It does get easier with time as you become more confident with your life style choices Re: What do you think about this(famaly think im nuts)

I now they mean well but its a little bit desturbing that they are so negative. Re: What do you think about this(famaly think im nuts)

Date: April 26, 2009 07:00AM I imagine your family will get used to it and after a while they will accept that it is just what you do. Being vegan is strange enough for most people to get their heads around - raw is just right off the scale. Give them some time and meanwhile try not to let it disturb you. Date: April 26, 2009 01:33PM I have the attitude that what I put in my mouth is highly personal, like who I marry, how I educate my children, and is no other person's business. Because I have this attitude, people don't often want to approach or confront me about these choices. Also, I can run rings around every one I know. In a short time you should look and feel great and no one can argue that. I have had some family members voice concerns about my kids getting their nutrients, but my education on where and how we get nutrients is always greater than those who would question it and I usually end up teaching them something.
Educate yourself, get healthy and be confident! Re: What do you think about this(famaly think im nuts)

Date: April 27, 2009 11:25AM Basically: If YOU are happy and confident...and supporting THEM....then how they feel is just a function of where THEY are....and not something to be taken personally.
In short, DON'T expect them to understand or condone YOU...or someone who is doing the right thing....they probably won't. If they did, they would probably already be doing it! Heh...heh. It is up to you to understand, support them.....and show compassion....and maintain good dignity boundaries in not allowing your diet or any other subject they wish to be negative about...any air time. -David Z.
