Newbie needs Transition/digestive issue information
Posted by: garden_yogi ()

Hello,

I'm a very health conscious omnivore who is beginning to make raw food a more important part of my diet. Over time, it would be nice to be at least mostly raw.

I have digestive difficulties and have found that eating more raw has caused somewhat more digestive discomfort this week. I'd like to find some resources and information that may help. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Check out this set of articles on The Principles Of Digestive Physiology Which Decree Correct Food Combining. Also the next set of articles called Application Of Food Combining Principles.

If you follow and practice these principles, your digestive system will have a chance to heal and you will have excellent digestion.

Hi garden_yogi

The mistake I made in the early months of raw was eating fruit at the same time as, or shortly after, harder-to-digest food such as sprouted grains, nuts, seeds etc.

Because fruit is quick to digest, it needs to exit quickly. If its way is blocked by the harder-to-digest food, and it has to hang around, it will ferment, causing gas - musical tummy, burbling, blow-up, pain...

Eat fruit alone, or possibly with other easy-to-digest food such as leaves.

Thanks. I'll check the article. I like the increased energy and will like it better when my digestion catches-on. I don't think I had fruits in conjunction with the symptoms.
