Carob Question
Posted by: Anonymous User ()

Recently I have become really endeared to carob, and I like to mix carob powder with water until it is a pudding consistency, and eat a small bowl of this. I've noticed that typical carob recipes only call for it in amounts of up to a few tablespoons, and so I was wondering if carob is not the type of food you should be eating a cup of at a time, as I am doing. Anyone have insight about this? I can't find any information to suggest otherwise, but I also can't find any evidence that other people eat this much carob at once!

I've only seen and heard good things about carob so I don't think there's anything toxic about it as long as it's truly raw and organically grown. Recipes don't require much just because you don't need much to make it taste good.

I think if the carob replaces healthy, nutrient-rich foods such as fruit and greens, I think that's a potential problem.
