lemon water

i tried a search but couldn't find the answer....
is water with lemon squeezed into it
alkaline or acidic.

common sense would say acidic, but i've read it's actuallly alkaline?

what do you think?

Apparently, it becomes alkaline in digestion. The clinical evidence of this is sketchy, but lemons are considered healthy presumably because they DON'T acidify your tissues.

isnt fruit always alkaline unless/until you eat it with anything else, where it turns acidic? I would think that apply to lemon juice as well.

Lemons are obviously very acidic but their ASH, the stuff that is left over after they are metabolized and burned in the cell, is very alkaline, and this ash is what has an effect on the pH of the body. In fact, according to this chart they have a pH of 9.0 making them the MOST alkaline food. Watermelons also have a pH of 9.0 and watermelons are sweet, so you can't judge a food's pH by how they taste.
