Making Non-Raw Try Raw

Date: August 04, 2009 07:26PM Without having to whip up any complicated recipe, what's a more simple raw "finger-food" that I could have co-workers try. I've introduced them to the green smoothie as well as coconut water, coconut rolled dates, and I've told them about seaweed salad. Any ideas on what I could bring in for them to nibble during an afternoon snack? Re: Making Non-Raw Try Raw

Date: August 04, 2009 11:03PM hmmm... don't know if this is more complicated than what you're looking for...it's not too bad cos you just mix all the ingredients up in a bowl, and it keeps pretty well in the fridge overnight... I just did this tonight for my boyfriend to take into work tomorrow, I did it once before and it has been 'requested' again by his co-workers, lol (they always like to sample the lunches I make for him, haha) so it's very 'non-raw' friendly
it's basically a salsa: 1/2 watermelon (mashed up) 1 sweetcorn (scrape corn off into bowl) juice of 1 lime 1" cube of ginger, chopped up finely 1 chilli " " " 1 avocado generous bunch of coriander sea salt you can play about a bit with the quantities till it's to your taste. Very moorish. I think they're planning to eat it with Dorittos though... :-/ I also made them desert (I know, I'm a pushover,lol!) 2 honey mangos 1 sharon fruit 1 avocado a touch of vanilla essence if you don't mind cheating (well,they're not proper rawbies anyways... lol) all blended together, makes a kind of mousse (do you guys have angel delight over there? tastes like that!) would probably be amazing with cacao but I didn't have any. I did add some freshly picked berries though to make it a nice pink colour. oh, and sprinkled a few sesame seeds on the top ps, yes, I know, all terrible food combinations Re: Making Non-Raw Try Raw

Date: August 05, 2009 01:24AM a simple lettuce wrap is always nice lettuce, mushed up avocado, then any little bit of filling , sprinkle with a few seeds roll em up .. finger food !
(potential for crappy food combining but still finger food ) ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: Making Non-Raw Try Raw

Date: August 05, 2009 01:30AM I like this sandwich spread/filler; it is a hit with my non-vegan friends. Using my juicer with the blank instead of the screen;
I will feed through the chute - Onion Tomato Green Pepper Lettuce Celery Carrot Other You get the idea. It creates a very tasty sandwich filler. Sometimes I will add a bit of flax oil afterward to hold it together, although it is usually moist enough from the tomato. Re: Making Non-Raw Try Raw

We also use Ezekiel bread or maybe seven grain bread purchased from a local "organic" bakery. Re: Making Non-Raw Try Raw

Date: August 10, 2009 05:19PM The dips and salsa's sound delicious! I think I'm also going to try nori rolls with nut pate and spiralized zucchini pasta with marinara, maybe kelp noodles mixed in depending on how I feel about those (never had them myself). I love being able to share food with others- especially when you tell them your diet consists primarily of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds and they immediately assume you eat like a rabbit.
