Green Bags - are they for real ??

Date: August 14, 2009 06:34PM Just watched a little video demo of Chef Tina Jo talking about the Green Bags and how much she loves them. Any experience with these little things? I've heard that it's just hype and waste of money, but she swears by them and claims that her produce lasted "10 times longer" in the green bags than standard plastic bags. Any thoughts?? ***************************** "Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... [www.rawfoodsupport.com] I could swear this was a longer discussion(maybe not at this forum) about produce extender bags, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe do a search on the Other Topics forum? Re: Green Bags - are they for real ??

Date: August 14, 2009 10:26PM I recently read the reviews for the boxes and they had mostly bad reviews. It's interesting how they work well for some, but not the rest. Many said that it only kept small berries fresh and nothing else. So I guess it depends on the food.
Does anyone know what type of plastic it's made out of and why it works? Just would seem like something would be toxic used to make this work. But maybe not. Another item I was wondering about is the Ethylene Gas Guardian. Simple Raw Recipes & Health Tips Re: Green Bags - are they for real ??

Date: August 14, 2009 10:38PM there seems to be a treand tho amongst the 50'50'ers .. alot of the reviews i read the ones that failed were the ones that washed the fruit then put them in the bag.
i have used these bags and they work great but i dont wash anything before putting them in there, i wash prior to use and thats it i think the moisture on the fruit can cause these bags to fail, from what i have read ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: Green Bags - are they for real ??

The product is still good if it has not been broken open and turned over-ripe or rotten. Some produce can last MONTHS in the proper conditions and the enzymes and nutrients are just as fresh as when it was first harvested. I guess I'll just stick with buying my product in smaller, more frequent quantities as I've been doing all along. =) ***************************** "Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... For me it's more like 3 days and I either eat it fast or throw it away. If it tastes a bit off to you I say either don't eat it or rarely leave it get to that state. Thankfully in this modern world our tastes still work well when it comes to food going off. Re: Green Bags - are they for real ??

Date: August 16, 2009 07:47PM I find that they do make greens and herbs last longer. i haven't found as much difference for fruits. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
