Date: September 20, 2009 02:11PM Since heating destroys nutrients, enzymes, etc....I would assume that boiling tea bags is not the right way to make green tea...which is supposedly raw...and extremely healthy to drink???? Re: Best way to make green tea???

Also would we have taken warm drinks in times past? I think not... at least wait for it to cool down a lot. Re: Best way to make green tea???

Date: September 20, 2009 09:08PM All tea except herbal tisanes has been heated in processing, so it really doesn't matter how you prepare it for drinking--it's already cooked. Re: Best way to make green tea???

Date: September 20, 2009 09:19PM Thanks for that Tamukha, but has it been done at 100 degrees celsius...?
[www.enjoyingtea.com] Also does anyone think the ideal thing might be to eat whatever leaf tea comes from? I've eaten loose-leaf tea before, it's actually quite nice enough. Also, you might know this already but if you can get/afford it, white tea is the best and closest to raw. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/20/2009 09:22PM by SuperInfinity. Date: September 21, 2009 12:26PM Well, tea is typically toasted, roasted, and fermented. These all require excessive temps, even if on the low side of excessive for cooking.
Unless you pick your own tea leaves in the Himalayas, and lay them out to dry under the winter sun on the roof of your hotel, assume commercial tea has been processed using heat. I still drink brewed tea because I like the flavor and warmth, and in the list of crimes against rawism, it's down at the bottom, IMO : ) Re: Best way to make green tea???
