I am curious about the second question, because, I have researched the active components in vanilla, and there are actually a synergy of things that literally target cancerous cells, repair them, and stop them from reproducing, unlike garlic with its more general nuke-em-all! effects on good/bad bacteria. Could I sit and eat an entire meal of vanilla pods? I don't think nature ever intended that. (I might have to raise my credit limit to try!) But from what I read, there is no "healing" reaction by the body trying to flush out vanilla pods ASAP, and I am intrigued by the fact this one DOES target malfunctioning cells... specifically. :O Curiously yours...
