Fuel for Ironman triathletes

Date: November 03, 2009 03:50AM Are there any Ironman triathletes out there who can comment on whether or not they think that fructose is an ideal fuel source during sustained aerobic activity. Many would say that dextrose and maltodextrin are better choices, but the raw food advocate in me wants to think that fruit is ideal, and would not cause GI issues during races. Any thoughts? Date: November 03, 2009 06:57AM Google Tim Van Orden and Brendan Brazier - they should set your mind at rest. Also there is a female ultra runner who came third in the Amazon Ultra whose name escapes me at the moment but I think her web site is www.go4extremes.com or something very similar. She eats purely fruit and salad leaves.
That should help for starters. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
