dehydrator safety

Hey smiling smiley I've been transitioning into a new diet, about 80% raw (and totally vegan, up until now I had been a major carnivore) for two weeks now. I'd been wanting to pick up a dehydrator, but couldn't afford to invest in a super nice one right away so I ordered one of those circular nesco ones on amazon for $50.

I wanted to put it on this wooden shelf in my room, but I don't want to create some kind of fire hazard ha. The instructions advise against setting it on carpet, towels, newspaper, "etc".. should I put a rack or something under it? silly question maybe, but I usually feel pretty capable/afraid of burning down my townhome with even the simplest of devices.

Thanks smiling smiley

I dont believe a dehydrator would ever get hot enough to ignite anything.
