This is a tough one for me. I don't want to use stainless b/c it leaches nickel and I don't want to use plastic b/c it may have BPA. I don't know if the non-BPA is that safe, either. Glass breaks but it doesn't leach and it is heavy. Wish there were a better way. Re: wonderful stainless steel bottle

I have klean kanteens, they never taste of anything but water, not metalic at all. I have to replace the young man's, he's dropped it on the floor at school a few too many times and made a couple splits so it leaks. Date: May 16, 2010 11:50PM If I'm going to use a bottle with a plastic lid, bpa free or not, why not just use a bpa free plastic bottle? My kanteen has a stainless lid, no plastic at all. Then again, I have a brita and any water filter I might buy is made of plastic plus the water from the tap comes through miles of pipe and who knows if that all has bpa in it or what else so what's the point in the end? sigh. or i suppose you could find your own bottle and find a neoprene sleeve to protect it from one of these sites, [www.alibaba.com].. i would probably use a cork to cap it , or maybe find a bottle with one of those nifty ceramic stoppers (like the old heinekin bottles)...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Edited 1 time(s).
