Date: June 17, 2010 09:29PM Matt Amsden's book has a recipe for a sweet pie[nut crust filling, natch] with a filling made with whizzed raw cashews, coconut butter and spirulina. I've never tried it. Anyone tried it? I suppose it could be made with spirulina mixed with pureed cashews, tomatoes, carrots, lettuces and avo . . . Re: green pie?

There was also a recipe for a spinachy-mushroom green tart-like like thing in there too. Re: green pie?

Yes that was "Rawvolution." Thanks for reminding me about that Mushroom and Spinach Quiche. Yes, it looks tasty, but I have not had luck with the onion "bread" that is the crust : ( Re: green pie?

Date: June 18, 2010 03:13PM If you check out the recipes at the sunny raw kitchen blog you're sure to find something for a savory pie crust, that woman is AMAZING with the gourmet raw recipes. I was thinking spinach too, easy to marinate and blend or chop up with some other veg and spices. You could do something with that spanish moss to make a kind of aspic like dish. I made a bean sprout stir fry thing once that would be interesting in a pie like crust. W sprouted quinoa or something like that, a grainy salad in a crust. Nice. Re: green pie?

thanks for the replies i think i'll use spinach, parsley and maybe some celery do u just chop it up? i once had a raw spinach pie made by a company ( forget the name) it was a packaged deal and it was sooooooooooooo amazing the consistency, texture etc. it looks like it was made from a special machine .. not quite blended and not quite chopped but have no idea how they got that consistency.. so awesome though any ideas? Date: June 18, 2010 11:13PM make a mixture, chop some of it, and blend the rest... and mix them together so you have that combination of textures... me,I hate anything thats just ONE texture usually, chips are about all that can get away with that with me, and I prefer a dip to go with them...lol Re: green pie?

Date: June 19, 2010 11:24AM ohhh... that's an excellent idea
1. chop 2. blend okay.. got it when u say u don't like anything of ONE texture, do you mean ONE food has to have different textures? that sounds intriguing... but i'm a little confused okay.. so... chips have ONE texture ? i guess its kind of subjective.. i mean.. chips , to me ( like those raw chips.. like kale chips) have a LOT of texture. esp. if they are spicy kale chips... but then again, i guess it depends on the type of chip interesting but i will do the chop and blend great idea thanks!!
