A lot of recepies call vor (raw) cacao powder. I dont have it so i was wondering if i just take the nibs & trow them into my vitamix & try to grind them to a powder could that powder be use like the 'real' powder ?

I caution that you'll probably end up with chocolate because of the friction employed and the high fat content of the nibs(cocoa powder is ground cacao bean with most of the fat, or cocoa butter, removed), but give it a go.

a mortar and pestle would probably do it to, just more work, but less intense friction involved, but yeah, you will still end up with more of a paste than a powder...

Do you have a coffee grinder? you won't get a fine powder but pretty close with a coffee grinder.
