Blending. Why?

Date: December 18, 2010 06:07AM I have a stupid question. I think I already know the answer.
Many recipe books and videos tell you to blend ingredients together at different stages. For example: Blend the fruits alone, then add the hemp seed powder to the fruit and blend again. Why not just blend all together in one spin the first time? Another example: Blend the banana and water together, then add the fruit and blend again. Re: Blending. Why?

Date: December 18, 2010 06:29AM Im not sure about all recipes, but I know that sometimes things just blend better if certain things are blended first, like in a green smoothie, Kale blends up better if its blended by itself with some water or juice, then any fruit or other veggies put in next...at least for me it has. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, mirror in the sky What is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life? Re: Blending. Why?

By the way... the show The Drs gave the whole audience Vitamixes today. So unfair! Re: Blending. Why?

Date: December 18, 2010 10:16AM Thanks guys. After posting I asked my girlfriend about it and she explained. Basically it's all about consistency. Some things are best blended by them selves. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
