Date: February 08, 2011 08:42PM Major GMO crops are corn, soy, wheat, canola and cottonseed.
On produce stickers 4 numbers is conventionally grown. 5 numbers starting with 9 is organic. 5 numbers starting with 8 is GMO. For now. There are plans in the works to change labelling laws so there will be no way to tell if things are GMO, organic or not. Oh, and organic doesn't necessarily mean non-GMO anymore. Re: GMO and NONGMO

Date: February 08, 2011 09:15PM My aunt is sending me some berry seeds from back home. I am almost afraid to say what these plants are, I am sure they will be gmo before i know it.
Gads,I hate that its a night mare! thanks for the info though. I will look at the little stickers more closely. its weird that the info is there, but is in code. I guess too few people are interested in knowing this? Re: GMO and NONGMO

Date: February 08, 2011 09:32PM I think it's for tracking purposes only, like in case there is a food borne illness that they have to figure out the source of or something. It certainly isn't there for US! Re: GMO and NONGMO

Date: February 08, 2011 10:57PM Youtube from organic alliance or one of those groups, sorry I totally forget exactly where. I've read it before though, on here and other places. There is the list of the dirty dozen as well, 12 highest in pesticides and the 12 lowest for choosing what to buy organic when you can't afford to buy ALL organic. Re: GMO and NONGMO

[www.seedsofdeception.com] This might be what coco refers to, but note--apparently, it's fictive: [kblog.lunchboxbunch.com] THIS explains why(from a year ago in the HuffPo): [www.huffingtonpost.com] And the link imbedded in the above: [www.nongmoshoppingguide.com] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
