What do I do? A few months back, I, a female, noticed something similar to an "adam's apple" in my throat, checked it out and they say it's a cyst and needs to be surgically removed. I think I've had it for a few years now, but it was always very small and barely noticeable. Today it's gotten bigger and I see it clearly. It isn't growing any further. I believe in a natural way to heal, and I need your help! I'll do anything.

I feel really low on energy and have been yo-yo dieting a lot. I wake up with a dry mouth every morning, puffed up face, no energy to even go to the washroom. A few years back, I've done raw food. It lasted for a month and I felt very energetic. Today when I try raw food, I feel like I need to sleep ALL day and can't function. I think the yo-yo dieting is the reason for this - my system is screwed up. This year I became allergic to wheat products, and I still eat them because I love them - they give me brain power for a little while, but then make me even more tired. I'm a student and must have brain power to study.
I'm 40 pounds overweight (female).

Before I went raw, I was heavily dependent on coffee to live my life. When I quit coffee, I had so little energy that I couldn't function.

At the time, I saw this as a really bad thing. Now, given my experiences, I realize it was just my body trying to heal itself.

So because I was so fatigued, I started raw foods, and in the beginning this caused my coffee-detox induced fatigue to go away. But really it didn't, it was just that the raw foods were easier to digest, and the foods I chose at the time were stimulating. All that healing I needed to do was deferred, because I didn't want to surrender to the fatigue.

At some point, when I started eating low fat raw vegan, without all the stimulating foods, I had a major episode of chronic fatigue. But this time, having learned more about detoxification and the healing process, what I did was allow myself to get all the sleep I needed. I took 4 month off from work, and just slept all the time - 16 to 18 hours a day, including the naps I took.

So when you go on your raw diet and feel the need to sleep all the time, this is your body healing itself, undoing all the damage from your previous life. What I recommend is to do what I did, which is to take a leave of absence from work, and sleep until the extreme fatigue lifts. This took me 4 months of sleeping. You may be able to do this in less time.

I bet if you get this sleep out of your system (by sleeping, not by taking something), your cyst will heal itself.

Do some reading up on calcium bentonite clay - if I had something like a cyst, this would be in my arsenal as one of the first lines of defense. I use it daily now anyway.

Reduce stress - get more sleep. Cut out any refined sugar & HFCS.

The best way to allow the body to dissolve a Cyst, or a Tumor, is to go on a Water Fast. 21 days should show good results in your case. Plus, you'll lose most, if not all, of your excess weight.

Sounds like thyroid issues? I think you need a wholistic practitioner who will work with your desire to eat raw.

Yeah, I'm wondering if you have a goiter, depending on where it's located? Where an Adam's apple would be could be a thyroid nodule(they aren't that uncommon). Or it could just be a fatty cyst, or even an acne cyst that's gone untreated and has calcified. Have you had a strict diagnosis from a specialist?

What sort of raw were you doing when you did raw? Is it possible to try another variant, if this time around what you did before isn't working for you? I wouldn't recommend a water fast[sorry, WY!] as you are already fatigued and a student--you won't be able to keep up activities. I had a recurring cyst, shallowly located above my jugular on the right side of my neck, that went away after doing high green-juice, low fat raw for a few months. I was actually really surprised, because it wasn't the object of going raw, but was a wonderful "bonus"! What sort of raw were you doing when you did raw?

I have spring break coming up, I think I really will do the water/juice fast.

While I agree that fasting will probably make the cyst disappear, unless permanent lifestyle changes are made, starting with a clean raw diet, the cyst will come back. Here is a great article that describes some of the drawback of fasting: Fasting: A Dangerous Game.

An alternative to fasting would be to make the permanent lifestyle change, and the cyst ought to disappear by itself. This may take some time, depending on how drastic your changes are, but I feel it is a safer approach. If you do partake of a fast longer than 2-3 days, I highly recommend getting some supervision.

I don't think having the cyst removed by surgery would be necessarily a bad thing.

While you are recuperating and getting to rest, then with the healthier diet changes
you can change your body to a healthier state.
