acid reflux/thyroid/asthma???

I went to the doctor today because i have been having trouble with hoarseness and lung issues... he's testing me for thyroid and also suggested acid reflux and a minor case of Asthma... for the acid reflux he suggested some icky drug... prlosek so i went to the health food store and got something a bit different... does anyone have any suggestions how i can deal with this on a very natural level...
