OK...I have seaweed...now what?
Posted by: veganjuice ()

How do I use this stuff? I have;

Kelp/Wild Atlantic Kombu Flakes

Wakame

Kombu

On the package there are cooked recipes, and a salad recipe. But I don't want to cook it, & I am not really a big fan of salads. Can I simply use it in smoothies?

I don't think it would taste very nice in a smoothie personally but go ahead and try it.

I eat about a 1" square which I think provides about 100% RDA Iodione.

The 2 ounce bag should last me almost 6 months.

Remember how in the '70s women were instructed to greet their men with a martini and clad in nothing but Saran Wrap? Do it with sheet of noriwinking smiley

Siriusly, I would make energy soups and add the seaweed to it.

Not once, in the 70s, did I ever have a woman greet me in either saran wrap or with a martini. I guess I missed out sad smiley

The martini isn't necessary... neither is the saran wrap.

I added 3 TBSP of the Kombu Flakes to my 64 oz. green smoothie - tasted fine, didn't even know it was there. Guess that worked out okay...

I add the flakes or granules to smoothies or just an oz or two of water and shoot it over like a shot.

Dulse is a good seaweed to try, its very delicate and mild tasty compared to wakame which is chewy and not so nice in my opinion.

Nori sheets are good for filling with shredded veggies, although nori is low in iodine. Still a source though.

I came across this recipe yesterday...I don't know how deep into raw foods you are, but if you have a dehydrator it would be a great thing to make! I can't wait to get an Excalibursmiling smiley
