Seaweed and other marine plants - all edible? Coincidence?

How is it that we can eat all (close to 100%) of plants from the sea and only some from the land?

You know where I am heading - AAT (Aquatic Ape Theory). During certain part of the evolution we were at least semi-aquatic.
