Do fruits lose nutrients faster after being cut?

If I chop some fruits, do they lose nutrients just by the sliced end being exposed to air?

Thanks

They will oxidize quicker but you will only lose a considerable amount of nutrients if you have left them out in the open for hours, by then many fruits will have went brown anyway and become inedible.
