Date: November 26, 2011 07:38PM Hi Jodi,
I always wanted to have one of these for a citrus juicer, but it's a little expensive (I had something similar for a while from Mexico, but when all the paint started to peel, I let it go!). This one is stainless steel and looks wonderful: [www.williams-sonoma.com]||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Cyber%20Monday-%20copy-_- This is cheaper, but not nearly as fun; and it's cheaper still at walmart (where I found something very similar): [www.williams-sonoma.com] And here's the stainless steel version: [www.williams-sonoma.com]||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Cyber%20Monday-%20copy-_- For mashing/grinding, I use a suribachi sometimes. It works well, just takes time. It's very good for mashing grain sprouts to make raw bread: [www.google.com]# Have you moved or are you contemplating moving somewhere without electricity, or is this something that just happens to interest you? I think hand tools are very cool. Re: Manual Solutions for Electrical Problems

you are the 2nd person to suggest a suribachi to me .. they look fabulous , my ol hippy friend here has been using one since the 70's and has promised to will it to me but i told her i might now have to just get one and she will just have to stick around longer with us the citrus press for sure is a great idea and for sure . I just wish it could press other stuff too ... would be neat to find one with interchangeable plates for other fruits .. but yep this ones on the top of my list ! i was thinking of modifying something like this for a juice press [www.monoprints.com] no not moving its just the power goes out around here soooo much during the winter ..sometimes for a few days and it would be neat to have some alternatives / choices to electrical ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: Manual Solutions for Electrical Problems

Date: November 29, 2011 01:45AM i'd be interested in maybe a mortar and pestle like a really nice one.wouldn't it be great if it whad a cast iron base for extra iron. though, that is definitely not in the realm of a bike powered food processor.
there's always a rocket chef. though i find those better with two people. (one holding it steady. Re: Manual Solutions for Electrical Problems

Date: November 29, 2011 03:31PM rawalice i could only find a completely whole cast iron mortar pestle .. [www.amazon.com]
i have a marble one that im always worried about dropping .. (the last one hit the floor broke in half and cracked a tile ugg !) cast iron would still bust a tile but im sure it would take alot to break it , itself lol ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: Manual Solutions for Electrical Problems

Date: November 29, 2011 08:01PM Gee, I looked at the Healthy Juicer. I want one! I have an old Champion juicer, but it is so heavy and such a hassle to set up.
Eaglefly, have you tried the Healthy Juicer on fruit juicing? If so, does work OK? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
