I notice that the ideal of most of the raw foodists is to live peacefully. Nothing wrong with that. We all (or most of us) want peaceful living. But, even that 'peaceful' life is full of struggles and, yes, a lot of fight. Would you fight for the girl/man you love? Most of the people would answer 'yes'. Under certain circustances, most of the men on this forum would use firearms to defend or even attack. I will not even mention numerous scenarios. How about a bar fight? Ok, not many fights in raw foods resaurants, but if somebody caused trouble, I KNOW that most raw foodists would answer accordingly. Even the most 'meditative' ones.
Each of you gentle ladies who like running has killed thousands of ants in their lives. Not to mention smaller, hardly visible or invisible creatures. Like it or not, just by being yourself, you KILL every day. And there is nothing wrong with that. It is UNAVOIDABLE. Creator made us this way. We have no choice. We disturb whole societies just by our mere existance. We destroy life with every breath we take, every move we make. Can't stop that.

What's my point? I don't think I should fit my life into a set of ideological rules. I eat the way I eat because I HAVE BEEN MADE FOR THAT. I think that we should preserve nature because IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO DESTROY IT. I am trying to learn who I am. That's all.

I believe that most of us on this forum are, rather than living by those 'ideological rules' you spoke of that represents our culture, and that many follow blindly.

I also prefer to live a peaceful life, as far as I can. And yes, I believe it's an Ideal, but one that I have chosen, though tempered by my idea of balance. And is the reason why I don't walk around breathing through a dust mask in case I accidently breath in an insect and kill it........

trees fight
cuz they are overjoyed to do so
so full of sap some of them are
mightily
they must do something with all that energy
so they joust about
rattling their branches
and digging their claws into the dirt
sipping as much qi as possible
so they can sing some more
clap their leaves
and shout as they unfurl their pugilistic nature to the stars

...still, trees are fighters too. They fight for sunlight, for soil. They fight insects and animals. Trees are really tough. When you cut a tree, chances are you are cutting a hero.

oh heck yaa!! they BETTER be! cuz everyone wants a piece of their action

what with mangoes, papayas, pineapples, guavas, and apples all swayin off their branches

they BETTER get their fighting ON! or they'll end up naked all the time

and that's indecent

they have to fight to be fully clothed

and they also have to fight to keep all their limbs

and torso

and well... its worth fighting for

and uhh... sometimes i fight with them

and i win

and i get an orange for a reward

and i say to the tree " hey mister... it was a good duel.. too bad you can't move as well as I because if you could, you would have DEFINITELY won"

and since mr. tree was a good sport
i gave him some water
