Date: July 17, 2006 10:21PM just wondering about this coconut i just opened. the water has a pink hue to it, ans so does the meat. does this mean it's bad? it doesn't smell bad, or taste bad. it's just pinkish. should i eat it or not?
thanks.. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/17/2006 10:23PM by purenkind. Re: pinkish looking coconut??

Date: July 18, 2006 02:53PM I opened a coco that was white but smelled and tasted off-almost like rancid coco oil. I threw it away.
I wonder what the pink could be? Re: pinkish looking coconut??

Date: July 18, 2006 05:56PM well, i ended drinking some of the water, but not all of it. i just couldn't get around the color. and it only had a tiny bit of meat on it anyway, whic was very pink as well. it's still a mystery to me why it was pink. maybe it sat too long before getting onto the grocery shelf? I knew that was a bad sign. So I took a look at the meat and it was sort of yellowish or pinkish. It tasted really bad so I threw it away. I guess if it doesn't taste rancid or anything, you can enjoy it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
