Yes i was hypothyroid most of my teenage life dull straw like hair, low body temperature, puffy face, slow metabolism etc, part caused by poor adrenal function and part caused by estrogen dominance. There are so many different causes of low thyroid though so you need to treat the cause. [www.natuhealth.co.uk] Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 12/17/2012 09:06AM by powerlifer. Re: Thyroid therapy?

Date: December 17, 2012 10:28AM Iodine is only one cause of hypothyroidism though, albeit a common one with how deficient iodine is over a spectrum of different diets. If hypothyroidism is caused by auto-immune hashimoto's you must take care with iodine supplementation, as it has the potential to aggravate the condition.
Some other common causes of low thyroid function include adrenal insufficiency, estrogen dominance, auto-immune disorders, low tyrosine, iodine and other endocrine disorders. [www.natuhealth.co.uk] Re: Thyroid therapy?

Date: December 19, 2012 04:48PM Had an imbalance so started taking 3 drops of lugol's daily. Went back for further tests and had an imbalance in the opposite direction! I've cut back to one drop daily (powerful stuff!) but haven't been tested since, I'm due. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
