fructose - glucose of some raw foods

Hi

Some people believe that fruits are fructose and that other vegetables carbs contain glucose. It is not so. They are mixed. Fructose does not stimulate insulin secretion. But glucose does. Some fruits contain lots of glucose, which in turn raise insulin secration. Others contain more fructose than glucose. Cancer cells are tuned to insulin sixteen times more than regular cells, so you would want to avoid glucose foods (if you had cancer). Not all fruits are the same.

fructose minus glucose of fruits

(Example, if it is 0.00 that means equal parts of fructose to glucose. Bananas -0.13, which mean slightly more glucose than fructose)

This is part of the problem though, that fructose doesn't stimulate insulin secretion and as such lowers circulating levels of leptin also. This significantly raises the chances of weight gain and the resulting metabolic consequences of a prolonged high sugar/fructose diet such as insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome(syndrome X) which far too many people are now suffering from.

At the same time its not really fair to compare fruit with the likes of high fructose corn syrups which are sneaking into common foods such as breakfast cereals etc.

Fruit along with vegetables are amongst the healthiest foods we have access too and the majority don't eat enough of either. At the same time its about moderation, balance and sensible portion size when it comes to all foods and diet in general. With the research available to us i don't think high fructose or sugar diets are healthy especially long term even if from fruit. Just my 2 cents.

fructose does not need to stimulate insulin and it is not a problem. Some people complain that fructose makes you fat. But try to find a picture in google Or in the whole earth of a fat long term fruitarian. You'll find it is the other way around. There are some people who have problems eating fruits but those do not make the whole earth. Nobody knows everything goes on.

here it is the easy direct linky smiling smiley
