i don't like many of the toothpastes even if they are "herbal" or "natural"

too many ingredients
your inner lining (mouth) have pores very permeable
anyhow

this is what i do

1. get sea salt ( any kind will do)

2) put in a cup .. put in some water ... the more water u put, the less abrasive

3) wet your toothbrush bristles and put into the cup with seasalt/water

brush your teeth

u can gargle with it too... u can't gargle with regular herbal toothpastes

teeth feel clean, look good and keeps you fresh and smiling all day long smiling smiley

i tried mixing a bit of clay with it too

but honestly i just like the salt better

though don't get me wrong, the clay worked too

same thing if u wantn to use clay

get clay ( whatever kind)

wet it so it is a paste

u can add sea salt to the mix too or even tea tree oil and or peppermint oil or whatever other essential oils u like

clove is good too

then when it gets pasty

put it onto your toothbrush

it works pretty well too

the fine powder acts as a mild but effective abrasive

you will also save a lot of money because a jar of clay goes a long way

as does a cylinder of sea salt

i estimate you can get 10 times as many brushes doing it this way
then getting the toothpaste

u can then use that money in

buying more dandelions and cilantro and sprouting seeds

and other desirable things

so get your teeth SUPER clean and gorgeous , be assured you are not leaching weird chemicals into your pores, save LOTS of money and feel the pleasure of being able to do this if you are stranded on some island

simply get some sea water

and use your toothbrush

it you don't have a toothbrush, use your finger

u can gargle with sea water too

i mean, its good to have fresh clean water but if you want to have a fresh mouth

use what u can

also if there is some clay on the island u can use that too

and u can use the clay to shampoo your hair

so ... so there

easy peasy ways to be self reliant

and with this new found confidence u can go on to

save

also u can use the sea salt as a perennial anti bacterial for your toothbrush

u put the salt water in the cup then add water and then swirl your toothbrush in it ( warm water is best)

so your toothbrush is always clean

u could use tea tree oil too

but if u are out in the middle of nowhere

its easier to get a hold of salt then it is tea tree oil ( u need many trees and a way to extract the oil from the leaves.. not so easy to do)

if u want sea salt clay peppermint toothpaste
just put all the ingredients together
add water so its pasty and enjoy

takes 10 seconds to make

so now i can throw my toothpaste goodbye

forever

bye bye expensive herbal toothpaste

its been nice

we had a long marriage, didn't we?

just a few little spearmint spats

but i found something better

lots better

and we must part

so bye bye toothpaste

i am happily going for the next best thing

have a good life Herb E Toothpaste

and be well

Thanks. Do you use any other natural materials? Very interesting...

<<Thanks. Do you use any other natural materials? Very interesting...>>

well right about now
i like to watch

" natural movies"

requiring no popcorn, theaters, DVD's or even a computer

i just sit back, relax, maybe drink some dandelion cilantro lemon juice

and close my eyes

and watch the drama unfold

right before the screen underneath my eyelids

but for real
the natural toothpaste works

maybe its easier to put the salt n clay powder on a plate a flat surface
to mix the various agents

lemme know how it works for you

its pretty fun experimenting

15 minutes of oil pulling before brushing the teeth.
That alone does half of the brushing.

hey

so with the clay powder, i do it every time

it only takes seconds... no biggie

but i'm wondering how i can make it so that i don't have to do it every time

because if i leave the clay thing ( with water) it will kind of harden over night

how do i make it consistently soft

i guess i could experiment with different essential oils and amounts

but if i were to not be dependent on the essential oils

is there any other way to make the clay "soft" and not get hard overnight?

any clay toothpaste enthusiasts out there?

concerning the coconut oil (antibacterial)

wouldn't that put a film like coating over my teeth?

i love my teeth to look and feel clean

how do u get rid of the coconut oil film if you brush your teeth with coconut oil?

curious

so i guess i have TWO questions on this toothpaste thread
