if i get it fresh and grind it
will it stain my teeth?

maybe its vanity or something
but i've always been blessed with nice white teeth
so i don't want to stain it and make it orangey
if i stain my teeth, will it be permanent?

how do you grind it? just chop it with a knife?
do u use gloves when handling
do you just get chopped up bits and throw them in salad?

i sometimes used the turmeric powder for salad dressing
but i think fresher would be nicer

cuz i really don't know what the process is for making powder
fresh is best

La_v, yes, it will make temporary stain on your teeth and it will go away but in general women in India apply fresh turmeric paste on skin to avoid hair growth and kill fungicides and make skin glowing.
You can cut into pieces and add to salad or smoothies, fresh turmeric is available at any Indian Grocery store at US.
You can drink juice out of it along with other vegetables/fruits using slow juicer as well as centrifugal , start with 1 or 2 twigs first and then slowly increase the count and don't forget to add peperin (through pepper) to add absorb ability as we do with clove, cinnamon, cardamon + pepper to make chai.
chopping will not help in uniform mixing of peperin to curcumonoid so only simple blending or masticating process is the option.

I heard it is good for fighting cancer tumors from growing on you and eating you alive.

I use it, I put turmeric powder in my salt shaker. One part.

I don't really know how else to use it.

"I don't really know how else to use it."

I don't use it in recipes, I just put 1/2 tsp of turmeric extract (95% curcumin) in my mouth and swallow with water right away shortly after a meal that contained fat.
