Changes in forum due to SPAM prevention

Date: November 04, 2014 08:59PM In the last few days this forum was SPAMMED with over 1000 message pertaining to downloading pirated videos. I've implemented a CAPTCHA spam protection for when you post a message.
I had turned off all new accounts after deleting the 1000 spam messages, but I have now since turn on new account creation after implementing CAPTCHA. If the CAPTCHA system does not prevent the creation of tons of spam, I will have to figure out a way to have people ask for permission to join so I have filter out the spammers. Date: November 05, 2014 03:33AM I deactivated a bunch of user accounts that were created on Mon, Nov 2, 2014, because this forum was under a massive spam bot attack. If your account was deleted in this purge, feel free to create a new user account. Re: Changes in forum due to SPAM prevention

Date: November 05, 2014 03:29PM The CAPTCHA spam protection is sort of a pain in the ass, but its editing features more than makes up for it! Re: Changes in forum due to SPAM prevention

Date: December 02, 2014 10:23PM Well, this action has slowed down spam, but we still are getting spammers. At least it's not a 1000 messages a day Re: Changes in forum due to SPAM prevention

The image does not change when you enter the wrong code. Please correct. Re: Changes in forum due to SPAM prevention

Please correct. Nooooo! Don't ask for any more tampering! Do you want to risk the whole site crashing and everything being lost forever if he hits a wrong key? Date: February 03, 2015 07:49PM Well, the spam is pretty low nowadays, perhaps 1 to 2 spammers a week. The captcha seems to be doing its job, at a price of inconvenience for all who post. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
