A year 'raw' and 2 new 'cook'books

Date: July 08, 2015 09:32PM I didn't pay attention to the actual day I decided to start transitioning to raw, but it was sometime in early/mid-july last year. I can't believe how much I've learned and how much I've changed over the past year! I was so nervous going into this, but now I'm pretty much all raw (a couple cooked meals a month is about it for me).
In 'celebration' I got my first raw 'cookbooks'. I know the internet has a lot of recipes, but I do prefer books. Found 2 at the local bookstore that seem to have recipes that may appeal to my picky husband (I'm currently making him a cooked meal and me a raw meal EVERY meal we eat together). They are 'RAWvolution" and "RAWvolution continues" by Matt Amsden. They seem to be filled with tasty recipes, so I'm excited to try! Re: A year 'raw' and 2 new 'cook'books

I think its perfect recipe book. ONION BREAD MMMMM cactus nopalito salad, guacamoles, all the staples...but easy versions A raw version of potato salad should be your first! Re: A year 'raw' and 2 new 'cook'books

Date: July 09, 2015 09:35PM I actually tried the bean-less hummus last night (with a huge veggie platter). Very tasty! The recipes seem to have a lot of nuts and seeds though, but I suppose a couple high-fat meals a week won't hurt me I'll look into doing the potato salad.
I just wish there was't so much coconut. I've been allergic to it all my life. It's like my biggest irritant of being raw, SO MANY RECIPES call for coconut and no one seems to offer ideas for substitutes lol. I guess I will be doing some experimentation!
