Your weight is very much a function of calories consumed vs energy expended. If you consume less calories then energy expended you will loose weight.

Your initial question asked about maintaining weight though. I assume his blog does not say that if you cut down on calories and continue to expend the same amount of energy that you will maintain your weight!

Calories are just a vague idea. People love to have numbers on things, but calories aren't as accurate as you might think. Most significantly, raw food has a large fraction less of calories/energy absorbed by the body as shown by Wrangham et al.

do organic veggies have MORE to offer your body,so less bulk is needed, hence less calories?

I have just bought some sea vegatables. I am having them for dinner. I hope this boosts me, they dont have any calories but they are super foods. All my calories today has come from fruit.

sea vegetables have calories smiling smiley

superfoods is a cliche term coined by salesmen smiling smiley

example , goji berries (a current superfood !) grow in abundance in nepal, people there eat them like we eat ... say blackberries here , why? not because they are a superfood but because thats what grows there lol

elevating plants to some godlike status only serves to drive up the price of simple food and line the pockets of salesmen smiling smiley

anyhow, enjoy your day and enjoy your food i hope it all finds you in good spirits smiling smiley

...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist
