Date: February 13, 2010 01:02AM Hi Lisa,
Here is a recipe for curried crepes by Roxanne, its not quite pancakes, but pretty close. Are you looking for sweet? I guess you could make the crepe without the hot spices, and savory ingredients and use raw agave syrup for pancakes. Its worth a try, if you have a dehydrator. [books.google.com] Edited 1 time(s). Date: February 13, 2010 05:48AM Pancakes were the one food I remember that when I would eat them, they would sit in my stomach like a brick. Given the food combining (starch, sugar, fat, protein) its no surprise that those pancakes took so long to digest. I remember at some point I figured out that if I left out the butter and the syrup, the pancakes would digest better for me. Re: pancake day! whoooo!!!

Date: February 13, 2010 07:08AM 10 years of co-ed summer camp pankakes turned me off for life .. along with lumpy red river cereal and cream of wheat
Omega that sounds good , personally id use blended dates watered down a bit to make a bit runny i have yet to develop a taste for agave .. it leaves a funky aftertaste in my mouth ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: pancake day! whoooo!!!

They would sit in my stomach like a chunk of cement as well... Abuyway, lisa; This is an excellent site for recipes - [www.recipezaar.com] Type in the recipe search box something like; "raw pancakes" "vegan pancakes" , etc. Re: pancake day! whoooo!!!

Pancakes always turned to lead in my stomach too, and made me feel about as lively as a slug after I ate them, if I could stay awake, in fact. Never liked them very much, for that reason. That would happen to me also. Even before trying raw I gave up pancakes for just how run down it made me feel. Especially mcdonalds pancakes with artificial corn syrup 'maple syrup'. Actually anything now with just loads of sugar make me very, very sluggish. Interesting enough however, if the sugar is still in a whole food form it tends to not do that, such as dates, raisins, figs. Re: pancake day! whoooo!!!

Date: February 14, 2010 03:42PM Thanks for all the links guys looks like I've got a lot of pancake experimentation to do
funny enough, just yesterday I got an email from [www.charliesrawtreats.co.uk] with recipes for pancakes and choc sauce! here it is: Ingredients *1/2 cup ground flax seed *1 cup water *1/2 cup of ground almonds or almond pulp left over from making almond mylk. *2 dates or 1tbsp agave nectar *1tsp of vanilla powder or 1/2 vanilla pod Method *Blend the ingredients in a blender until smooth. *Add more liquid or flax seed as desired to form a thick but smooth batter. *Spread on to grease-proof paper to a 1cm thickness. If desired, shape in to circles. *Dehydrate for 8-10 hours in a dehydrator set to 115 degrees Fahrenheit until you have the desired pancake consistency. *If you don't have a dehydrator, simply spread on to a baking tray lined with grease-proof paper and bake in the oven set to the lowest temperature. *Using an oven, these pancakes won't be 'raw' but they will still be super healthy and super delicious. and here's the one for choc sauce: Ingredients * 1 cup raw cacao butter or raw coconut butter * 1/2 cup raw agave nectar * 1 cup raw cacao powder * 2-3 drops essential oils such as mint or rose (optional) * 1/2 tsp of vanilla powder or 1 tsp vanilla essence (optional) Method * Gently melt all of the ingredients in a chocolate fondue or * Gently melt the cacao butter in a dehydrator set to 115 degrees Fahrenheit or in a sauce pan over a low heat. * Stir in the raw agave nectar, cacao powder and the essential oils and vanilla powder (if using) until there are no lumps remaining. * Taste the sauce and add more sweetener or cacao powder accordingly Re: pancake day! whoooo!!!

That sounds so good. Sounds like you know how to do really creative raw vegan foods. I pretty much just eat foods as they are, but those special recipes must come in handy for those cravings! Re: pancake day! whoooo!!!

Date: February 15, 2010 12:40PM Hi Mislu, I'm afraid I can't take the credit for those recipes, they came from
[www.charliesrawtreats.co.uk] I'm actually hopeless in the kitchen, I was when I was cooked and I still am now I'm raw lol! I'm the same usually, I just pretty much eat the food the way it comes, although sometimes when I feel the need I rustle up some cookies or something I'm a pretty good smoothie and juice designer though Free Newsletter: [bit.ly] Facebook: [www.facebook.com] Instagram: [www.instagram.com] Blog: [RawFoodScotland.co.uk] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
