salad dressings and such

Hi all,

I'm doing my research into Raw Foods - I'm just finishing up a cleanse and really want to try to maintain a mostly raw diet. There's a ton of information on this website regarding "beginners," so I don't really have any questions as far as that goes but...

What do you put on all of these salads? Do you have any favorite recipes for dressings?

Also, I am a very active person and need to be sure that my body has enough protein. After being a vegetarian for so many years, I've become used to soy/gluten products to up my protein intake - but they aren't allowed! What else can I try?

Thanks for your help!

I use hemp oil based salad dressings. Normally just hemp oil and nama shoyu or lemon juice. Sometimes I'll had finely chopped garlic, somes finely chopped garlic and ginger (this goes really well if you put mango in the salad). Mmmmmm yummy.

My favorite old two:

1) Minced garlic & lemon juice with a touch of italian spices.
2) Pureed carrot & ginger (like catalina)!

Look for ANNIE'S NATURAL'S in your Health Food Market, there is a wide selection of fabulous salad dressing's, just about anaything you could want to imagine and they are all so delicious. Many of them are ORGANIC, but if you are not wanting anything that is put in a bottle and want to make your own. The recipe already listed with the HEMP oil is so good and it has all the OMEGA 3's you could ever want, and it's great!

For a whole food kind of dressing, I like avocado and lemon juice. Then for extra flavor, I add chopped onion, cilantro or parsley, grated fresh ginger, and dulse.

love bryans suggestions! Annie's goddess dressing is delish!

I often use tahini (love it), with garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and a tad of nama shoyu, a mostly raw soy sauce, or a pinch of celtic sea salt *all blended*

italian style: olive oil/ apple cider vinegar/ minced garlic, cilantro, rosemary, sea salt mmmmm

avocado/coconut/date sauce is also scrumptious! berries could be added of course.

My favorite is avocado blended with orange juice. Delicious.

Annie's Dressings are not raw, btw.

All the best,

One of the simplest and easiest is olive oil with lemon juice. I've also tried it with lime juice and it's equally good!
