What were your detox symptoms?
Posted by: DaisyHair ()

Did anyone have itching in their hands and fingers?
It's strange. I've noticed this often today and my ears also.

I would like to hear what others experienced!

I am on day 4 of about 75-85% Raw. (totally Vegan).. coming off a very high fat extremely processed low carb (lots of meat and processed deli cheese and meats) diet.

What? What?

I have heard of every symptom you can imagine. Really, some strange ones and nothing is wrong or too weird either. So long as you are feeling relatively ok and nothing is happening that is too concerning in terms of health I think it's alright. If you feel that something is too much to handle you can slow your detox down with a bit of cooked food but try to keep in the healthy realm with that so you don't set yourself back. Some steamed veg or soup.

Beer porno?! ha.. I guess I need to read more on the site. I have missed this one!

I sure do need sleep, I am really tired and it's very early in the day for me to feel this way.

Now I seem to also be itchy all over.
I know our skin is our largest organ so I guess it's normal to do some detox thur your skin~

I HATE itching though. I feel like my skin is crawling.

I could handle a serious headache more than this.. ugg!

Poor you - it sounds like you have made some drastic changes - well done for that.

I agree with Coco - slow it down a bit to make it more manageable. Sometimes if it's all too distressing then the chance of falling of the raw vegan wagon is more likely.

You have given up all that meat and fat and gone vegan - that is a huge leap to make and your body is going 'oh my God what's happening'. Be gentle with yourself and remember that 'Rome wasn't built in a day' (sorry for dreadful cliche).

Your body is working really hard - expect to feel more tired - sleep if your commitments allow you to. Drink lots of water and keep posting back here to tell us how you are doing and to get support.

Vinny,

Are you OK?

Daisy,

You've made a hige shift suddenly; you'll likely see weird symptoms occasionally over many months or longer. As long as you are moving incrementally toward greater health, it's all good.

P.S. Not all love dies. Just thought I'd throw that into the ring.

daisy you might want to try skin brushing , it will help shed some rough skin cells, and alievate some of the itchiness and well it just feels darn good !!

Eaglefly..

(((hugs)))

Dude, I am new here but wish you healing as well. Sounds like lifes been a b*tch lately? Just remember this too shall pass. I wish I something more profound to say to you *smile*

Jgunn,

Dry brushing is a great idea.. I used to do it, still have my brush somewhere.. ooo even thinking about it feels good.

Tamukha and Flipperjan,
aww.. thanks for the kind words. I am very excited about the changes. I welcome them I am just so curious about what will come and what others experienced. This year has brought on huge changes for me already (have lost 30+ pounds since Feb so far), peeling away the onion for sure. It's been an emotional rollercoaster too.

I am in love with this site.

I second the dry brushing. You can also do some other exfoliating and skin soothing things. Put some oatmeal into a cheese cloth bag (just a double piece of it tied up with string or elastic) run it under water and squeeze it out on your skin, use it like a bath poof in the bath or shower. Rinse with an apple cider vinegar dilution to reset the ph balance of your skin (works for hair too, the faint scent wears off quickly so don't worry about that). A steam or sauna can be good to open pores and detox via the skin quickly. Drink a lot of water, water with lemon, green juices like cilantro, parsley, kale (add apple, cuke etc to make it tasty).

Vinny, some love Never dies. Like the love for yourself dude. Even if you aren't feeling it at the moment, it's still there. Solid like a rock, utterly dependable. It's the only one that's stayed a constant in my life, coincidentally it's the only one that really matters too.

coco,
thank you.

it is sometimes utterly impossible to feel that .
when there seems to be no hope of a partnership,or having a family,or any meaning in this life other than to just get by day to day somehow surviving.

That right there is EVERYTHING, those bare bones of survival. That's your inner you loving you through the toughest times my friend. Getting you by, day to day, somehow surviving. I'm telling you man, you are there for yourself like a ROCK even when you don't know it.
I'm not a religious person but it's like that story of the person who looks back over their lifetime and sees two sets of foot prints in the sand, one their own and one belonging to Jesus (to me Jesus in this story symbolises our inner connection to spirit, to higher self, to pure love). During the hardest times of that person's life they see only one set of prints and ask, "Why did you forsake me and let me walk alone just when I needed you most?" To which they hear the reply "Those were the times I carried you." That's beautiful and so incredibly true.
