Haha i read recently animals also do this so they can get traces of the good bacteria that is present in the fecal droppings. Smart animals.

Regarding eggs: I raise my own. When I order baby chicks, I get heirloom varieties, which means they are not sexed. That means that you do not know if they are males or females. Sometimes I have more males than females (ie, egglayers) and it causes problems. Still, I don't kill them nor do I give them to anyone who will.
